 "Better than expected" 2009-01-06
By Andrew (Florida)
Having owned a Rolex submariner I was somewhat skeptical about this purchase. But money was tight and the rolex had to go. I purchased my Invicta almost a month ago and am very happy. It has good weight, maintains excellent time, and looks a lot more expensive than what I paid for. The only thing I would want Invicta to change is the clasp. For a few dollars more I think they could make the clasp heavier and more sturdy. Apart from that, this watch is a great buy...

"Best watch for the price" 2008-07-08
By John
I have probably 12 watches, at least. I think this is maybe my best watch for the money. Here are my reasons:

- Cost me under $ 100 and looks like a Rolex or Omega

- Is very light and I like that for summer

- And yet, is still steel and has the steel look and feel

I don't think you can get a better Swiss watch than this (mine says "Swiss Movement", which I think might mean it was designed in Switz. but made elsewhere, but who cares, for that price ?).

All in all, a very good watch for the money. I agree, it is a little shiny and that might not be everyone's thing.

"Beautiful, but definitely poor build quality" 2007-12-26
By David N. (Bellingham, Washington)
I took a chance on this watch despite several reviews about poor quality construction (mentioned also in reviews of the same watch in other colors), because I really like the style. Unfortunately, the other reviews were right. First, the watch I received does not have the same face as shown in the item picture. The model number received is the 9308A (not the 9308), and does not have the red Invicta insignia. It is the "hollow" Invicta insignia, which I would like better, except the the second hand has a tiny Invicta logo attached at its base -- -- personally, I think it makes the watch look cheaper. Also, while the bezel is blue the face of the watch is much more of a purple/blue. Nonetheless, I would have kept the watch, except the bezel was extremely difficult to turn. I can't see anyone actually using it underwater, or with dive gloves on. As well, as mentioned in other reviews, the second hand falls between the hash marks. Maybe its a small detail, but I know it would frustrate me every time I looked at the watch. The screw down crown feature would be nice, except the crown rubs against the casing and is difficult to release. There are supposed to be two distinct positions for the crown once unscrewed, one to set the time, the second position to set the date. Unfortunately, the mechanism is rather poorly executed and the crown kept slipping out of position while I tried to set the date, and would reset the time. Then, once I set the time and date, it took several tries to screw down the crown without actually altering the time setting. For me, even though the watch was just under $100.00, there are too many flaws to keep it. I have a $45.00 Relic We that is now 8 years old that was built better than this watch.

"Solid watch; a little flashier than the picture indicates" 2007-09-27
By BH (Huntsville, AL)
I was a little surprised at how shiny and "flashy" this watch is. The picture made the blue face and bezel look a little more subdued; however, they are a bright, shiny blue that almost appears to have a purple tint, at times. Also, while the outer edges of the band are brushed steel, the center of the band is highly polished, and the crystal is highly reflective. It looked slightly different than I had expected; however, in the end, I decided to keep it. My wife and friends think it's beautiful, so I guess it just depends on your style.

Watch seems solid and has kept accurate time since I first set it a little over a month ago.

Good size and heft for men who can pull off a larger watch. Believe the comments about the length of the band; I'm a large man and this is the first time I've ever needed a smaller band. I had one link taken out, and then adjusted the pins in the clasp to make it a bit more snug.

 "Build quality" 2007-09-01
By J. Gebryel (New York City)
Ordered this watch from Amazon for a good price. The Invicta #9308 is more about the "bling" than it is the functionality. Polished and brushed stainless steel bracelet adds to that look, along with flashy blue housing. Nice and light to wear and looks like a knockoff of more expensive watches. The luminous hands and markings glow well in the dark. The build quality, however, seems poor. The bezel on top is difficult to rotate, and the second hand hits in between the marks almost the whole way round. The best things about it are a)when you buy the watch from Amazon, Invicta extends the warranty to something like 5 years b) the price c) the presentation is very good--the yellow box the watch comes in is like candy. I almost wanted to keep the watch so I could keep the box. In the end, though, I went for the Momentum M1 Orca, which has greater functionality while a bit more expensive. Overall, I'd say this is a good starter watch for someone in high school or maybe college.
